CornerPost Software, a leader in Internet filtering and content management since 1996, have announced that they are doubling the number of servers available for Chaperon@Home users after a recent sharp spike in usage by home and small business users.
“The recent surge in activity is a testament to Chaperon@Home’s appeal, and we are making sure that increased usage does not decrease the user’s experience,” said Ryan Elswick, Marketing Director for CornerPost. “The Chaperon@Home server system was built with this in mind so that we could easily add more servers in multiple locations in order to provide redundancy and quick access for users in other areas and continents.”
Increasing the number of servers ensures that there are always connections available to Chaperon@Home clients out on the Internet. Chaperon@Home clients do not utilize a local proxy, and instead check a proprietary Internet database to see if sites are acceptable. This combined with CornerPost’s patented technologies for detecting inappropriate web use make Chaperon@Home popular for the user who wants to protect their child from accidentally finding material on the Internet, or ensuring that only authorized users may use their Internet connection.
About Chaperon@Home
Chaperon@Home runs on Windows XP and Windows 2000, and brings Internet safety to any Internet account, and any type of connection, including dial-up. Chaperon gives computer owners control over who can use the Internet on their computer. It also blocks inappropriate websites, and sends alerts on inappropriate web use. Chaperon tracks Internet usage for every Internet user so that even if history is erased on a computer, a log of their Internet use still remains. In addition, the Chaperon Personal Information Trap will be available in an update soon that will prevent private information from being sent out via instant messenger.
